A poor pooch found himself in a sticky situation when he accidentally got caught in an illegal trap set by a mystery person. Luckily, a kind-hearted individual spotted the dog in distress and alerted Pima Animal Care’s Animal Protection Team, who promptly came to the rescue.
Officer Kristen Weigand quickly arrived at the scene to assist the distressed dog. In order to prevent further harm, she decided to keep the trap on the pup’s paw and carefully placed him in her truck. She hurried to the clinic where veterinarians skillfully removed the trap, ensuring the dog’s safety and well-being.
The X-rays showed no fractures, only some minor cuts on the skin. The paw was treated and the pup is on track for a complete recovery.
Pima Animal Care Center is currently looking after a dog they’ve named ‘Trapper’ while he’s on hold as a stray. It’s unclear if he was lost or belongs to someone. They are hopeful that his owner will come forward so Trapper can be happily reunited with his family.
