As a car drove by, the driver noticed Violet and a group of dogs chained up with heavy metal chains. These chains were not only preventing the dogs from moving around freely, but they were also causing harm to them.
Violet was approximately 2 years old when she was found, and according to Angela Stell, the founder and director of NMDOG, she had likely spent her entire life on a chain. Along with five other dogs, Violet was rescued from a property in New Mexico, where keeping dogs tethered without supervision is against the law.
The local county sheriff’s department was sent to the property to find the owners, but it seemed like the dogs had been left behind. NMDOG took in all the dogs, including Violet, and their healing journey started.
“She was surprised and still feels a bit nervous,” Stell mentioned. It is believed that Violet may have faced mistreatment due to her actions.
Great news! The little pup is doing well, both physically and emotionally, and she will soon be ready for adoption once she fully recovers!
